Come get a taste of What we have to offer.

Discover Sierra is a chance for those already attending summer camp at Camp Whitsett to experience an ultra-affordable two or three days, jam-packed full of High Adventure.

All ages are welcome, so your entire troop can participate in this program, without taking away from rank advancement, or earning merit badges.

2 day discovery

The two day discovery commences immediately after your week of summer camp. This program is based around cycling and entails a lot of the same program. We'll leave Camp Whitsett, by bicycle Saturday morning with the other troops participating in the Two day discovery, and head toward Dome Rock where we'll spend the afternoon climbing and rappelling. We'll spend the night camping and cooking at the base of Needles and head to Carver Ranch the next day to shoot Black Powder and do mountain man crafts. That night will be spent around a campfire, playing music and eating a hardy meal. The next morning you'll head back to Camp Whitsett and be on your way.

This itinerary is subject to change. Be informed that it is an intense two days, and no nap time is scheduled.

3 day discovery

The 3 day discovery is based around our phenomenal Wrangler Program. Participants in this discovery program will get to spend a goood deal of time on horseback participating in trail riding, western crafts, black powder, and much more. Starting Saturday, you and the other 9 participants will be given the opportunity to experience the majesty of these powerful animals and act as cowboys for 3 days. You'll be fishing, crafting, shooting Black Powder, rapelling and much more. The days will be full of activities, great food, and beautiful scenery.

Spaces are limited for this program, make your reservations soon. Please know the ability levels of your participants. All ages are welcome, but must be comfortable with horses.
