Sierra Expeditions offers premier Wilderness education programs to groups and individuals. Activities including guided backpacking, mountain biking, rock climbing and much more are based in the beautiful Sequoia National Forest, Golden Trout Wilderness, and Inyo National Forest.

Our Purpose

We offer our participants the opportunity to explore California’s wilderness environment through programs which are challenging and educational, promoting leadership and character development in the youth of tomorrow, as well as a respect for the environment and their surroundings.

Though not exclusive to the Boy Scouts of America, we are owned and operated by the Western Los Angeles County Council, BSA.

Trekking

The first of our programs, you can select from 6 to 11 day treks that take you to gorgeous meadows, crystal clear streams, invigorating hot springs, breath-taking mountain peaks, gigantic trees and some of the most beautiful scenery of the continental United States.

Cycling

If mountain biking is your thing, then this is your program. We offer several itineraries of cycling through the Kern River Valley, covering enormous amounts of space and stopping for various "High Adventure" activities. Our different cycling itineraries vary in the daytime and evening activities that are offered along the way.

C.P.T.

For older participants (ages 15-21) who are seeking something different, this program focuses on leadership development through high adventure activities and unique challenges. Here is an opportunity for individuals to branch out and grow beyond what typical residential camp programs offer. This program offers leadership experience, new friends, and a memorable week in the gorgeous sierras.
